Softball Recap: Tahquitz Wins Going Away Against Santa Rosa Academy

Tahquitz was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Santa Rosa Academy on Monday. The Tahquitz Titans were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their two-run performance the match before.

The team relied heavily on Vanessa Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Reyna Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Tahquitz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Rosa Academy only posted an OBP of .250.

Tahquitz now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Santa Rosa Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tahquitz will challenge Indio at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tahquitz is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Santa Rosa Academy, they will take on San Jacinto Valley Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. San Jacinto Valley Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Santa Rosa Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
