Spring Valley hadn't done well against Basic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Grizzlies walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Wolves. Winning may never get old, but the Grizzlies sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Lilia Kahalepo paced Spring Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Kahalepo got some help from Mackenzie Means and her 12 assists. Zakiyyah Rashada controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Basic's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Rivera, who had nine digs and one assist.

Spring Valley's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Basic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Spring Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against The Meadows School on the 27th. As for Basic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Cimarron-Memorial on the 27th.
