Football Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Westwood duked it out with King's Academy on Monday. The Panthers and the Lions were almost perfectly matched up, but the Panthers suffered a 21-20 loss. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 28-21 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Westwood still got an impressive performance from Joseph Weather Jr., who threw for 334 yards and one TD while completing 77.4% of his passes.

Even if they lost, Westwood's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Malachi Francios was especially locked on to King's Academy's QB and sacked him twice. With that strong performance, Francios is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Westwood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for King's Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Westwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 40-0 victory against Port St. Lucie on the 3rd. As for King's Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-7 win against Somerset Prep on the 3rd.
