Recap: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Triton Trojans
Even though the Jimtown Jimmies have not done well against the Triton Trojans recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jimtown strolled past Triton with points to spare, taking the game 56-39. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Jimtown was the better team in the second half.
Jimtown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Butler out in front who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Justyce Williams, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Jimtown now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Triton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jimtown will square off against New Prairie at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. New Prairie will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Triton, they will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Pioneer is ranked 297th, while Triton is ranked 292nd).
