Baseball Recap: Miyamura Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Miyamura proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by six) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Laguna Acoma Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since April 18, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Shane Escajada, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Felix Lopez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Miyamura pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Laguna Acoma, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Miyamura beat Laguna Acoma by a score of 11-1 later that day.
