While Grulla's win against Hidalgo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Gators had just enough and edged out the Pirates 22-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gators have posted since February 22, 2024.

Grulla's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Hidalgo, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coincidentally, Grulla and Hidalgo will both be playing La Feria the next time they take the field. The Pirates will host the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Gators will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
