Baseball Game Preview: White Oak Roughnecks vs. Troup Tigers

The White Oak Roughnecks are taking a road trip to square off against the Troup Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White Oak's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Troup's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, White Oak came up short against West Rusk and fell 6-2.

Tatum typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Troup proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Troup let Caden Graves and Logan Lockey run wild. Graves scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Lockey scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Lockey a new career-high. James Pierce also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Troup kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Troup pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for White Oak, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4-1.

White Oak skirted past Troup 3-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roughnecks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
