Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Willow Springs' Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Willow Springs proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Mountain Grove Panthers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since September 13th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Willow Springs who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 20-25, 15-13.

Among those leading the charge was Emma Grogan, who had 13 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Bryan, who had 11 digs.

Willow Springs was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Willow Springs is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6-3 record this season. As for Mountain Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15-1 record this season.

Willow Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Cabool on the 16th. Mountain Grove has also already played their next match (against Salem), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
