There's no place like home for Merrillville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the La Porte Slicers by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in April.

Merrillville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-20.

Logan Krause paced Merrillville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Krause got some help from Maurice LaGrand and his 29 assists. Krause was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Merrillville's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13. As for La Porte, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Merrillville has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Lake Central on the 5th. As for La Porte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Andrean on the 3rd.
