Williams made her presence known in Mount Union's 3-1 defeat
It was an underclassman who stole the show on Monday as Payton Williams came into the game with something to prove. She was dialed in and struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. She played a big game the last time she faced Glendale, so the team probably should've seen her coming.
Williams and Mount Union will head out on the road to face off against Huntingdon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Union is 3-0 against Huntingdon going back to May of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
