Softball Recap: Sonoraville Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Sonoraville entered their tilt with Rockmart on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Yellowjackets. The Phoenix have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellowjackets, too.

Lila Mullinax spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lakelin Hall, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Cadence Mulkey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Sonoraville's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Rockmart, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-3.

Coming up, Sonoraville will head out to take on Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Rockmart, they will welcome Ringgold at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
