Maggie Walker let  Cash Garrett and  Quinn Redwine run wild. Garrett  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and five  RBI, while  Redwine  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  stolen bases, four  runs,  and three  RBI. Garrett also  scored three  runs, which is notable because Maggie Walker is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Carson Holbert, who  went 2-for-5 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  double.
 Maggie Walker was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .514. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Godwin faced Deep Run in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-4  win over the Wildcats. The  victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three  games in a row.
 Hayden Bynum looked comfortable as he  pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  strikeouts (five).
 On the hitting side,  Noah Namkoong and  Alex Boyd did most of the damage at the plate:  Namkoong  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI, while  Boyd  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  Namkoong a new career-high.  Matthew Hartsfield was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Godwin's win was  their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 10-2. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Maggie Walker, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Godwin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Maggie Walker hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .335. It's a different story for Godwin, though, as  they've  only  averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Maggie Walker's hitters?
