Softball Recap: WF West Starts off Right with Win over Castle Rock

WF West took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Castle Rock Rockets with a sharp 13-1 victory.

Tanner Tobin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tobin was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karlee Coleman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Avalon Myers was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Castle Rock is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, WF West will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Columbia River at 4:30 p.m. As for Castle Rock, they will take on Woodland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
