Game recap: Holmes High School Football Team takes down Northside

PINETOWN, N.C. - Holmes (Edenton, N.C.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 43-6 win over Northside (Pinetown, N.C.).

The Aces put up 14 points in the opening frame. Holmes scored on a rushing touchdown and a touchdown run by Coredarious Peirce.

After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, HHS was up 28-6 at the half.

The Edenton school grew its lead to 37 points entering the fourth quarter. The Aces scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by RJ Leary to Malik Sessoms.



Northside's lone touchdown came on a 3-yard pass from Malik Slade to Rockne Butler in the second quarter.

The defeat comes as a step back for Northside, which notched a 56-6 victory over South Creek in its previous outing. The loss broke Northside's two-game winning streak.
