Baseball Recap: Delavan's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Delavan blew Putnam County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Putnam County got their revenge. Delavan fell just short of Putnam County by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Delavan has suffered since May 8, 2024.

Delavan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Horning, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Horning has posted since back in May of 2024. Another was Braden Arrenholz, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Delavan fell to 2-1. As for Putnam County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Delavan will challenge Bushnell-Prairie City at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Putnam County, they will square off against Seneca at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Putnam County's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
