Baseball Game Preview: Waterloo Bulldogs vs. Highland Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Waterloo will face off against Highland. Waterloo will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Monday. Waterloo fell just short of Highland by a score of 4-3.

For Highland's part, Chase Knebel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. Knebel is becoming a predictor of Highland's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Highland's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Garrin Stone, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

The victory (which was Highland's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Waterloo, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
