Baseball Recap: Whitmore Lake Takes a Loss

Whitmore Lake lost against Shrine Catholic back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Trojans took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Chase Abla made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Whitmore Lake is 2-1 when Abla posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-10 otherwise. Curtis Bower was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Whitmore Lake has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Shrine Catholic, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Whitmore Lake will be playing at home against Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Shrine Catholic, they will head out to challenge Mott at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
