Baseball Recap: Tustin Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tustin can now relate to. They fell just short of the Covina Colts by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Tillers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Tustin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Jacob Policare, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Tustin's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Covina, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-13-1 record this season.

Tustin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Covina, they will square off against Alhambra at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Moors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
