5A/4A Continental league recap: 3/27/13

Legend's Remy Peyton was the best pitcher in 5A/4A Continental this week. He struck out eight batters this week.

Chaparral made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from 11th to third place in the league thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, the Titans fell hardest in the standings, dropping from seventh all the way to ninth place after going 0-1 in the past week. First-place ThunderRidge (3-0) went 1-0 over the past week.

Although Legend surrendered only four walks this week, the lowest number in the league over that span, Mountain Vista is still tops for the season with just nine walks over 17 innings this year.

The Titans' Baird Mike kept his eye on the prize while at bat this week, leading the league with a .571 average (4-for-7). For the season, he's hitting .333, good for 29th in the league. Mike has accumulated five base knocks this year so far.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Peyton, who turned in eight Ks for Legend. He's third in the league with 12 total strikeouts.

Michael Laudick led Ponderosa to a win on March 25, as he notched eight strikeouts to beat Sherwood, 3-1. Over six innings of work, he gave up four hits and one run.
