Volleyball Recap: Althoff Catholic Falls Despite Big Games from Sam Roche and Nolan Karban

Althoff Catholic was the 2-0 winner over Belleville West when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell 2-0 to the Maroons on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-13.

Despite the defeat, Althoff Catholic had strong showings from Nolan Karban, who had nine digs and five assists, and Sam Roche, who had seven digs and one assist.

Althoff Catholic's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-7. As for Belleville West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Althoff Catholic will host Freeburg at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Belleville West, they will welcome Edwardsville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Maroons surely won't give up without a fight.
