Softball Recap: Pell City Panthers vs. Chelsea Hornets
Pell City's last matchup with Chelsea could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Pell City Panthers came up short against the Chelsea Hornets, falling 8-1. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Pell City got a good showing from Savannah McGaha, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. McGaha has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Pell City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briley Goodgame, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Goodgame's first of the season.
