Football Recap: Jake Scarbrough Leads Nazarene Christian Academy's Defense on Friday

Nazarene Christian Academy won the last time they faced Abilene Christian and Cristian Adams did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lions took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 78-46 win over the Panthers with plenty of help from Adams, who rushed for 253 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 305 yards and seven TDs while picking up 15.3 yards per attempt. He has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played.

Will Smithers was Adams' top target, picking up 91 receiving yards and one score. Smithers also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass.

Nazarene Christian Academy's defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. In that department, Jake Scarbrough was the leader with three sacks.

Nazarene Christian Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4. As for Abilene Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Coincidentally, Nazarene Christian Academy and Abilene Christian will both be playing Harvest Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
