Recap: Wade Hampton Generals vs. Laurens Raiders

The Wade Hampton Generals came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over Laurens. Given Wade Hampton's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Laurens is ranked 121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nyri Allen, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Jackson, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Wade Hampton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Laurens, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Wade Hampton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Riverside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Laurens, they will head out on the road to take on Greer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
