Baseball Recap: Toledo Comes Up Short

Toledo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Monroe Dragons. The Boomers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Riley Tyler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Law, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Toledo's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Monroe, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Coming up, Toledo will face off against Gold Beach at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Monroe, they will venture away from home to take on Mohawk at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
