Softball Game Preview: Bruce Trojans vs. Calhoun City Wildcats

The Bruce Trojans will take on the Calhoun City Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Bruce's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Water Valley with a sharp 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won nine in a row.

Sadie Box was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Turner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Box wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bruce kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Tuesday. Everything went Calhoun City's way against Houlka as Calhoun City made off with a 24-1 win. That looming 24-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Calhoun City yet this season.

The victory got Calhoun City back to even at 5-5. As for Bruce, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
