Softball Preview: Burgin Bulldogs vs. Paris Greyhounds
Burgin hasn't had much luck against Paris recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Paris took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Burgin, who comes in off a win.
Burgin will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Danville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 27-10 margin over the Admirals on Monday. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.
Jemma Jenkins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Jenkins was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with six RBI, two triples, and two stolen bases. Those triples were her first of the season.
