Softball Game Preview: Johansen Vikings vs. Modesto Panthers

The Johansen Vikings will take on the Modesto Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Johansen is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Central Valley on Wednesday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 22-1. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Johansen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Sanchez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Sanchez has launched this season.

Meanwhile, Modesto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 19-0 to Turlock.

Modesto's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Johansen, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
