League recap: Kozlowski throws longest pass in league this season for Bacon Academy

Nate Kozlowski and Ryan Duclos provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Waterford. The connection went for 84 yards, the longest such play in Eastern Connecticut - Medium this season.

Ledyard was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Killingly. The Colonels came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 41 last week.

Bacon Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kozlowski threw for 353 and 3 touchdowns and Duclos had 215 yards receiving. On the ground Steven Kardys contributed 37 yards. Dan Narlock helped Bacon Academy's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 66 yards.

He was 19-31 with 3 interceptions.

Duclos had a great week catching the football as the Bobcats fell to the Lancers. He caught 7 passes for 215 yards.

Kozlowski put up the best numbers through the air as Bacon Academy fell to Waterford.

Erik Larka's team's Kozlowski and Duclos have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Kozlowski has thrown for 679 yards this season, while Duclos has 18 catches for 461 yards. Tyler Stucke from the Redmen leads the league in rushing with 352 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Bobcats' Duclos goes up against Killingly's Michael Elsey.

Next week's game between Bacon Academy and Chad Neal's team will feature an aerial matchup as Kozlowski tests his arm against Elsey's defensive ability.

The Redmen are currently in second, while the Bobcats are in sixth.

There should be lots of points scored when Killingly and Bacon Academy face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Redmen comes in having scored 74 this season, while the Bobcats have scored 77. Killingly scored 14 points last week as it fell to Ledyard.

Jim Buonocore's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,552 from 4,995. The improvement was the result of a 55-14 victory over the Redmen last week.
