Basketball Recap: Pierson Comes Up Short

Pierson was the 76-53 winner over Bridgehampton when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Pierson Whalers fell 76-65 to the Bridgehampton Killer Bees on Monday.

Bridgehampton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Davis out in front who posted 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylin Harding, who earned 21 points.

Pierson's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bridgehampton, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Pierson will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southampton at 6:15 p.m. on January 21, 2025. As for Bridgehampton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-50 victory against Greenport on the 18th.
