Football Recap: Stigler Comes Up Short

Stigler was the 32-7 winner over Holland Hall when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dutch on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Dutch are ranked 36th).

When it comes to explaining why Stigler lost, don't look at Graham Easttom. Despite the final result, he rushed for 194 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 66 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Easttom is now averaging an impressive 108.2 rushing yards per game.

Stigler dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Holland Hall, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Stigler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holland Hall, they will host Berryhill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so the Dutch's offense will have their work cut out for them.
