Softball Game Preview: Caldwell Redskins vs. Hiland Hawks

The Caldwell Redskins will venture away from home to challenge the Hiland Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Caldwell's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Hiland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Caldwell's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Warren with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Redskins haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Hiland was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 25-2 to Sandy Valley. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Hiland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Beachy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Eloise Bickel also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Caldwell's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Hiland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
