Baseball Recap: Carter Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lincoln

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carter). They blew past the Lincoln Tigers 19-1 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Pablo Daurte made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing six bases. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean Armster, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Carter's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-13 when he doesn't). William Hall was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Carter's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13. As for Lincoln, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
