Addison had won three straight at home, but on Thursday they bumped up to 4-3 to make it four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Avoca-Prattsburgh Titans, sneaking past 8-7. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.
Claire Thompson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. Thompson was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Ava Knowles was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Emily Strauss also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Addison was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Avoca-Prattsburgh only posted a batting average of .174.
Having lost for the first time this season, Avoca-Prattsburgh fell to 9-1. The loss was their first of the season.
On Avoca-Prattsburgh's side, Meyah Putnam spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Avoca-Prattsburgh saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ McIntyre, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Addison has already played their next matchup (against Bolivar-Richburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Avoca-Prattsburgh also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Keshequa.
