Volleyball Recap: MacDonald Condor vs. Gunn Titans

MacDonald had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-20-1 to make it seven. They lost 3-0 to the Gunn Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on October 2nd.

Nina Blanusa paced MacDonald's offense, picking up seven kills. Blanusa got some help from Hana Aman and her 12 assists. Aman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

As for Gunn, their record now sits at 18-15. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Gunn's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Wong, who had 18 digs and two assists. Wong is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zara Mayor, who had six aces and five digs.

Coming up, MacDonald will face off against Pinewood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gunn, they will challenge Fremont at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
