Softball Recap: Union's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Union entered their tilt with Philadelphia on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Tornadoes 17-1. The Yellowjackets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th.

Abigail Cleaveland made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tiara Campbell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Destiny Moulds, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Union now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Philadelphia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Union will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tornadoes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
