Saraland is 9-1 against Baldwin County since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Saraland has five straight victories, Baldwin County has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Saraland against McGill-Toolen as the squad secured a 43-10 win. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 46th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jamison Roberts, who rushed for 110 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, and also threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Spencer, who picked up 52 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Saraland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Baldwin County fell victim to Mary G. Montgomery and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a blow against the Vikings, falling 45-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Baldwin County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Saraland, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Everything came up roses for Saraland against Baldwin County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 55-7 win. In that game, the Spartans amassed a halftime lead of 34-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
