Baseball Game Preview: Thacher Toads vs. Cate Rams

The Thacher Toads will square off against the Cate Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Thacher nor Cate posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Thacher's offense. They came up short against Foothill Tech on Thursday, falling 7-0. The Toads have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Cate also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 5-0 to St. Bonaventure last Thursday. The Rams have struggled against the Seraphs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Cate's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Thacher, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Thacher's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Toads have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cate, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Thacher continue to outrun the ball?

Thacher came out on top in a nail-biter against Cate in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 12-10. Do the Toads have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
