Softball Recap: Shawnee Drops Highest Score of Season Against Tecumseh

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shawnee). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tecumseh Arrows a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Arrows recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Shawnee got a great performance from Alee Trimmer as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Trimmer has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maura Simpson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and one triple. Nicole Greene was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Shawnee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Tecumseh, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Shawnee will host Northwestern at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Tecumseh, they will take on Southeastern Local at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Arrows surely won't give up without a fight.
