Basketball Recap: Fort Payne's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fort Payne waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 60-34 margin over the Pinson Valley Indians. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Pinson Valley still got an impressive performance from Alissa Hawkins, who posted 25 points. Hawkins has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Fort Payne's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Pinson Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Fort Payne will take on Ashville in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinson Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-37 loss against Fultondale on the 19th.
