Soccer Game Preview: Cypress vs. Beckman

The Cypress Centurions will take on the Beckman Patriots in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Wednesday, Cypress came up short against Servite and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Centurions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 795th, while the Friars are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Beckman lost 5-1 to Mater Dei on Monday. The loss put an end to the Patriots' undefeated start to the season.

Cypress' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Beckman, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1-1.
