Basketball Recap: Johnstown-Monroe Takes a Loss

Johnstown-Monroe lost against Licking Heights back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Licking Heights Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Johnnies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Hornets are ranked 97th).

This is the second loss in a row for Johnstown-Monroe and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Licking Heights, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnstown-Monroe will venture away from home to challenge Utica at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Johnstown-Monroe is facing Utica at the right time seeing as Utica is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Licking Heights, they will head out to square off against Zanesville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Zanesville has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.
