Soccer Game Preview: Hueytown vs. Jasper

Hueytown hasn't had much luck against Jasper recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Golden Gophers will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m.

Hueytown is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Mortimer Jordan on Thursday. The Golden Gophers fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 2-1. Hueytown have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Jasper made easy work of Mortimer Jordan on Wednesday and carried off a 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for Jasper, who have now won nine matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Jasper's victory bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Hueytown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Hueytown might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Jasper in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Golden Gophers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
