Basketball Recap: Jersey Shore Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shamokin Area, Jersey Shore was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 61-54 victory over the Shikellamy Braves. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Braves are ranked 601st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jersey Shore has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Shikellamy, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jersey Shore will venture away from home to square off against Midd-West at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jersey Shore is facing Midd-West at the right time seeing as Midd-West is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Shikellamy, they will head out to take on Central Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Central Mountain's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
