Preview: North Crowley Panthers vs. Permian Panthers
The North Crowley Panthers will face off against the Permian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with North Crowley sitting on 13 straight victories dating back to last season and Permian on three.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Crowley walked away with it. They took down Keller 42-26 on Friday. Given North Crowley's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Keller is ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Crowley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashton Searl out in front who rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Chris Jimerson, who threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Permian was able to grind out a solid win over Pebble Hills on Friday, taking the game 26-13.
Juzstyce Lara continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Lara hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games.
North Crowley has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Permian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
