Baseball Recap: Olathe Takes a Loss

Olathe lost against Meeker back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pirates lost 12-3 to the Cowboys. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olathe saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bridger Vincent, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Vincent is becoming a predictor of the Pirates' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

Olathe's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Meeker, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olathe will venture away from home to face off against Basalt at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Longhorns have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Meeker, they will square off against Aspen at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys are facing the Skiers at the right time seeing as the Skiers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
