Basketball Game Preview: Walker Wildcats vs. Denham Springs Yellowjackets

The Walker Wildcats will face off against the Denham Springs Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Walker comes in on ten and Denham Springs on six.

It was a proper cat-fight when Walker took on French Settlement on Thursday. Walker took their game with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over French Settlement. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kadyn Green, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points along with five boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Green a new career-high in blocks (three). Arionna Patterson was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Walker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Denham Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Doyle on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory.

Walker pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.5 points. As for Denham Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Everything came up roses for Walker against Denham Springs when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 71-38 win. In that matchup, Walker amassed a halftime lead of 53-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
