Basketball Recap: Forest Hills Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Forest Hills was feeling good fresh off their 53-21 takedown of Albemarle on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets were dealt a 71-44 loss at the hands of the Porter Ridge Pirates on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Nyjaya Wingo and Azariya Griffin certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Wingo posted 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Griffin put up 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Leyah Melton, who scored eight points and three steals.

Leading Porter Ridge to victory were Ashanti Taylor and Miley Malcolm. Taylor dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 boards, while Malcolm dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Taylor's big performance that evening made it 25 games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kali Williams, who had nine points.

Forest Hills' loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Forest Hills will square off against Carmel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Porter Ridge, they will challenge Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
