Softball Recap: Groesbeck Takes a Loss

If Groesbeck was feeling good fresh off their 20-0 takedown of Mexia last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Goats lost 10-3 to the Fairfield Eagles on Tuesday. The Goats haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Landrie Pringle made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Groesbeck's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Fairfield, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Groesbeck is set to challenge their familiar foe Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fairfield will face off against rival Teague at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
