Softball Recap: Dekalb County Extends Winning Streak to Seven

DeKalb County waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Stone Memorial Panthers a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Maggie Hendrixson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

DeKalb County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stone Memorial only posted an OBP of .235.

DeKalb County's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Stone Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

As of now, neither DeKalb County nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
