Volleyball Recap: Genoa-Kingston Comes Up Short

Genoa-Kingston was the 2-0 winner over South Elgin when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cogs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Storm on Saturday.

South Elgin was led to victory by Julia Pachuta and Ava Ritchie. Pachuta had ten digs and one assist, while Ritchie had three aces. Those three aces gave Ritchie a new career-high.

Genoa-Kingston's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for South Elgin, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coincidentally, Genoa-Kingston and South Elgin will both be playing Woodstock North the next time they take the court. The Cogs will head out to face the Thunder at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Storm will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
